Title: Hey There
Post by: Psilociraptor on October 11, 2016, 06:10:11 am
Psilociraptor reporting. Just stumbled upon this forum while looking for a good place to discuss my recent ventures with growing ethnobotanicals. Not a lot up here yet, but this place seems right up my ally so i look forward to seeing it and helping it grow. A little bit about me... I'm a sixth year biochemistry student transitioning to permaculture. I suffer multisystem inflammatory disorders presumably from lyme and mold illness. As a result i put a lot of interest and time in studying the connection between microbes and degenerative illnesses. Understanding environmental microbiomes, internal microbiomes, vector transmission, lifestyle impacts on immunity and microbiome structure and all those nitty gritty pathways that lead to cancers, alzheimers, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases and so on. Too much info for one brain but i like to think i have a grasp on the basics  :P In that time I've seen a lot of "quackery" in mainstream medicine (the irony...) and have largely turned to the plants. They have been my allies in the past. 3 years ago before my illness started i can confidently say i cured a decade long depression in two nights of Ayahuasca ceremony. The spirit of Ayahuasca has been with me ever since, guiding me through this current struggle helping me pull upon divine inspiration to sift the truth from delusion, helping me remember that the plants are my allies, and helping me find the golden threads that lead back to love in even the darkest of places. And it's all coming together just fine ;D I wouldn't have it any other way. The light at the end of this illness is getting closer and my goal is to continue to build upon the tools i've gathered and one day contribute to the development of sustainable community medicine within an ecovillage setting where i feel my true calling is. To not just be a deliverer of herbal medicine, but healing in my every interaction with my mind, body, spirit, community, and earth. Thanks for having me. I look forward to knowing you all and learning and sharing our experiences

Hello 'raptor!

I wanted to ask you about ayahuasca.  I'm becoming more and more interested in that as I delve deeper into researching it.  Does one have to travel to Peru in order to attend a ceremony?  Very curious.
